Glacier Cleanup

Description

We can clearly observe climate change at one of Germany's last glaciers – the Nördlicher Schneeferner. Due to the advancing glacier melt and the exposed state of the glacier in summer, more and more things are now coming to light that do not actually belong there – plastic, mountaineering equipment, and many other relics.

We see it as our responsibility not only to inform people about the condition and changes of the glacier, but also to actively respond to these changes. September 20, 2025, is World Cleanup Day. Together with the Vivalpin mountain school, we would like to launch a glacier cleanup to rid the Nördlicher Schneeferner of waste. Eighty people will have the opportunity to experience the disappearing glacier up close together with mountain guides, free it from the relics of past decades, and learn more about the background of the Schneeferner.
